Bow Seat In a Double?
Recently I've joined the county crew team as a Freshman. This team is very small, and there's only three girls: myself and the women's double. My Sophomore year, I'll be replacing the bow seat that's leaving (she's a senior and will be leaving the state after school is over). The stroke seat is 5'4, around 150, and she's slightly stronger than the bow seat. Double Seat I want the boat to be as good as it was, but the rower I'm replacing and I very different body types. The bow being replaced is about 5'2, 106 lb. I'm 5'9, 152 lb. We also pull about the same on the erg, which isn't very good for my weight (2:10 split). So I've got a few inches on her, but we'll be carrying 40 more pounds in the boat with the same amount of strength. I have the summer to train before we start racing together. Should I focus on losing weight or gaining muscle, or a mixture? (I've heard the bow seat of any multi-person boat should be the lightest.)I'd like to build strength regardless, so what sort of exercises would you recommend? Also, how much progress strength-wise or weight-wise do you think I could make over the summer?

Erg all you can. Also run, swim, do whatever you can to get that fitness level up. The fact of the matter is, a 2:10 split is not gonna make for a fast boat. You’re tall and strong, though, and with a little practice you’ll be breaking 8 in no time.

I don’t think so.
The Peg Perego Aria is a side by side double stroller that will accommodate one car seat. It will only take one of their brand car seats(which I highly recommend.) A Peg Perego car seat will latch and lock in rather then strap over the stroller. The Aria is one of the lightest double strollers you’ll find, and the car seat is one of the heaviest. The carseat is heavier in part because of the extra side impact protection. The aria runs at about $199.99 the carseat at $219.99The B.O.B. Revolution Duallie side-by-side stroller will take a car seat as well. It will take any car seat with a $90 adapter. The great thing about the BOB is that it will last as long as you need it. It’ll take something close to 75lbs in each seat. It also does not squeeze the toddler next to a bulky car seat. Pretty spacious. Runs about $570 + what ever carseat. You can get both of these strollers almost anywhere. I recommend going to the Right Start or USA Baby. All Right Start stores are closing, so you may be able to get a good deal on them. There is also the double Graco. I don’t recommend it. It is very bulky, heavy and set up front to back. The car seat just about sits on top and can have a “shopping cart effect.”
My brother and sister-in-law have a similar situation with a new born and a toddler. They have a double Contours stroller that they are happy with.
I don’t think any side-by-side strollers will accommodate any infant seat. I had a tandem stroller by Graco and my Graco infant car seat locked in (for security) very nicely.
I Have that same car seat and on the website chiccousa.com it says which strollers are compatible to the carseat.
ebay.comCheck the seller’s feedback, the more positive feedback they have they have the more trustworthy they are.
I think so, I know my friend used the two together… http://www.ask.com/web?qsrc=167&o=0&l=dir&q=Is+the+Britax+Companion+infant+car+seat+compatible+with+the+One+Step+Ahead+double+elite+stroller&search=Check on the site listed above and you can find your particular stroller and car seat!! Good Luck!!
try mtx. they make loaded and amplified enclosures to fit perfectly usually under the seat or somewhere else.
It pretty much has to be an eddie bauer carseat. I found a link for a nice affordable double strollerhttp://www.babydirect.com/p-5925-eddie-bauer-all-terrain-tandem-double-stroller-w-reversible-front-seat.aspx
I know that they make them, but I have not personally seen very many of them. You might try babies-r-us or the jeep stroller company website. Good luck in your search.
I was looking at a website and they say it’s compatible with Peg carseats.. maybe it’s not with your specific model…I would suggest to just get a double stroller… have you considered the Peg Aria twin?? It’s a side by side double stroller that fits all peg carseats and it fully reclines for your newborn and it’s still comfy for your toddler. Even though your toddler is now 2 maybe for longer trips or outings you may wanna think something that’s more comfortable than a sit n stand.. here’s the link.. Good Luck!!http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3425307
Single file strollers fold up very easy, it fits in the trunk of my Honda Civic, to answer the first lady’s response.Well with the single file ones you can put in the baby’s car seat, with the side by side ones you can’t. My boys are 3 and 1 now, we have a single file one,it’s great. I think a side by side one would be better for them now, but my 3 year old doesn’t really require a stroller that much anymore. But I also think that the single file ones have a bigger basket at the bottom which is a bonus.
Here is one i found, tho it says or shows nothing with a car seat.http://www.tiketech.ca/trax-double.php
Valco is the only brand in the market with the third seat option but any stroller that have the swivel front wheel are not recommended for jogging (the only brand in the marked that clearly warn you that is not recommended for jogging purpose because of its swing wheel is Jeep Liberty® Limited Urban Terrain stroller) because the locking mechanism of the front wheel can easily will unlock and turn sideways and jam into the ground and flipping the stroller and you will go airborn and land in front of the stroller when jogging last year (’06) along they were nearly 500 cases in the U.S. the best one in the market is Tike Tech http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2267440&cp=2255983.2256189.2256202&parentPage=family#prod_prodinfoalso try this website is much better than ebaywww.craigslist.com just search for product and your citygood luck
We bought a Baby Trend Sit ‘N Stand – it has an adapter for infant seats and we love it!
strollers.com has a LOT of strollers…sorry,but I don’t think you can find one like that….I have a triple stroller 4 my 4 kids,all under 4,and I carry the newborn in a carrier/sling…
